San Francisco, or San Pancho as it is more commonly referred to,
 is a Mexican town situated in the State of Nayarit
on the Pacific coast about one hour driving north of Puerto Vallarta.
The small town is surrounded by jungle and hills that are what is left of the Sierra Madre Mountains toward the edge of the Pacific coast.
San Pancho offers a beautiful wide sand beach, a few upscale restaurants and shops, lovely homes with roosters and chickens in the backyards.
